PROJECT OF SOUTH AFRICA


LAW:

The main source of the laws of South Africa were the Roman-Dutch mercantile, along with the English Common Law, brought by the Dutch and British settlers. The first South African law based on European principles was brought by the Dutch Company of the West Indies and is called Roman-Dutch law. It was imported before the codification of European law by the Napoleonic Code and is comparable in many respects to Scots law. This was followed in the century XIX by British common law and statutory. Starting in 1910 by unification, South Africa had its own parliament, which legislated specifically for South Africa, based on the laws and approved by the individual members of the colony.

HEALTH:

The spread of AIDS is an alarming problem in South Africa with up to 31% of pregnant women found to be HIV infected in 2005 and the infection rate among adults estimated at 20%.In 2007, in response to international pressure, the government made efforts to fight AIDS. In September 2008 Thabo Mbeki was recalled by the ANC and chose to resign and Kgalema Motlanthe was appointed for the interim. Of every hundred infected in the world, 18 live in South Africa. Unicef was created by United Nations General Assembly on December 11 at 1946. One of countries Unicef is helping is South Africa and more countries of Africa.
